Baroreflex Module in LabScribe

The Baroreflex Analysis Module is an add-on that enhances LabScribe with advanced tools for quantifying how strongly the cardiovascular system responds to changes in blood pressure. Common outputs include beat-to-beat baroreflex sensitivity, sequence-based slopes, and spectral transfer measures that describe the relationship between blood pressure and HR or RR interval.

Overview

The baroreflex is a key cardiovascular mechanism that stabilizes blood pressure by adjusting heart rate and parasympathetic activity in response to changes in arterial pressure. LabScribe streamlines analysis by automatically detecting and grouping baroreflex sequences into BP Up (BP and RR increasing, HR decreasing) and BP Down (BP and RR decreasing, HR increasing). See a complete list of LabScribe’s measurements below for streamlined, automated analysis.

Measurements Include

  • Seq #: Number of the sequence
  • Time: Time at the start of the sequence
  • RR Interval: Peak to Peak interval in msec
  • Heart Rate (bpm): Heart rate at the start of the sequence
  • Systolic Pressure: Systolic pressure at the start of the sequence
  • Slope (ms/mmHg): Slope of the fitted line for RR vs SBP for the segment
  • Slope (bpm/mmHg): Slope of the fitted line for HR vs SBP for the segment
  • Delta Pressure: Average change in systolic pressure across the beats in the sequence
  • Delta RR: Average change in RR across the beats in the sequence
  • Delta HR: Average change in heart rate across the beats in the sequence
  • Num Beats in Seq: Number of beats in the sequence
  • Aux Channel Mean: Mean of the selected Auxilary channel during that beat
