This technote provides information on how to export data from Indus Instruments Rodent Surgical Monitor to use with iWorx data acquisition systems. Within the RSM+ application, the users can go to the settings menu in the bottom right-hand side, go to ‘analog output’ to adjust either the channel assignment or the filtering. The users can export 8 channels if they have the 8 channel analog output cable or 4 channels if they have the 4 channel analog output cable.

Analog Output Filters
The filter setting on the Analog Output is based on the animal model selected under EXPERIMENTAL SETUP – ADVANCED option.
Caution: If the filter settings are unchanged then the animal model is selected make sure that Apply Animal Model Limits to Waveform Filters box is checked and/or make sure that the Auto-Sync filters box under ANALOG OUTPUT – FILTERS is checked (they can also be changed using the drop down arrows next to each setting).
The High Pass Filter can be set to Off, 0.2Hz, 0.5Hz, 1Hz, 2Hz, or 5Hz.
The Low Pass Filter can be set of Off, 1Hz, 2Hz, 5Hz, 10Hz, 20Hz, 30Hz, 100Hz, 200Hz, 500Hz, or 1000Hz.
Note: There is also a 2000Hz hardware filter setting that can be used, but if this is used, make sure to uncheck Auto-Sync.
The Notch Filter can be set to Off, 50Hz, or 60Hz (the notch filters are hardware filters).
High Pass Filter – This filter stabilizes the waveform baseline.
Low Pass Filter – This filter removes high frequency noise superimposed on the output signal.
Notch Filter – This filter suppresses cyclic 50Hz or 60Hz AC power line noise that can interfere with the instrumentation.
Another option is to click on the ‘Copy from Signal Configuration’ button to select the filter settings from configuration options selected under Presets.
